The Saltisford Canal Centre grounds provide a unique tranquil oasis in the centre of a busy market town. Visitors are welcome during normal opening hours, with foot acess from Birmingham Road and Budbrooke Road.
We also have a series of delightful small gardens -tended by the residential boat owners, an orchard with lawns, a picnic area- with tables and BBQ's. Much of the site is fringed by hedgerows, and a meadow area towards the town end has wild flowers.
Many nesting boxes are attached to trees and buildings.
Wildlife including, waterfowl- including Swans and Moorhens, bats, hedgerow birds, butterflies and the odd mammal can also be seen. We also have two resident -noisy- geese.
Light refreshments and souvenirs are available form our shop- housed in a converted canalside warehouse- open during normal hours. The building also contains a disabled toilet.
Saltisford does have a small car park- permission to park must be sought from the Superintendent and a donation of £2 is requested. The number 66 bus stops outside.
Due to its proximity to water visitors are requested to keep children under close supervision; dogs may visit but must be kept on a lead.
